SUMMARY:Fall ChoreoWreck 2026
DESCRIPTION:About the event\nTwo San Diego choreographers (the wreckees) offer up their works-in-progress to the “wrecking” process. We’ve invited four other dance artists (the wreckers) who practice in a variety of dance genres to play with the work and remake it live\, in front of an audience! This is a rare opportunity for audiences to witness the creative process of dance making. Learn more about “wrecking”. \nThe Process\nEach “wreckee” has 2 hours to go through the entire wrecking process (two wreckings each). The wreckee first presents the original work. Then their “wreckers” will get 45 minutes each to remake the dance on the wreckee\, followed by a showing of that remake. After each wreckee’s full session\, there will be a short “talk back” with artists and audience. \nThere is a break between the two wreckee sessions for audiences to stretch their legs and mingle with the artists.\nFree event…come & go as you please!\nFall ChoreoWreck 2026 is offered free to the public (suggested $10 donation to help pay the artists) – RSVP requested due to capacity limitations. \nThroughout the entire event\, audiences are welcome to come and go – pick and choose which sessions you’d like to watch\, take a break whenever you need\, stay for the whole event! Wristbands will be provided for re-entry. \nFall ChoreoWreck is made possible with the generous sponsorship of studio space by Culture Shock San Diego and funded in part by City of San Diego Cultural Affairs. \nSchedule of Events\n12:00pm: Greetings & Introduction\n12:15pm: Wreckee Session #1 – Elizabeth Haldo\n2:15pm: Wreckee Session #1 Talk Back\n2:35pm: Break\n3:20pm: Re-introduction of Wrecking\n3:30pm: Wreckee Session #2 – Devin Hargrett\n5:30pm: Wreckee Session #2 Talk Back
