SUMMARY:SDDT Summer Workshop Showcase 2026
DESCRIPTION:Experience the energy\, passion\, and artistry of San Diego’s rising dance talent! Join us for the culminating performance of San Diego Dance Theater’s Summer Workshop\, where students take the stage after two immersive weeks of training with some of the region’s most acclaimed choreographers. \nThis powerful performance features original works created by: Pablo Francisco Ruvalcaba Tovar\, Donna Flournoy\, Jessica Rabanzo-Flores\, and Jessica Humphrey. This performance will also feature SDDT professional company repertoire taught by Artistic Executive Director Terry Wilson. \nDancers will showcase a vibrant range of movement styles—from contemporary\, modern jazz to improvisation and beyond—demonstrating the growth\, technique\, and creativity cultivated during this intensive program. \nTickets for this show are donation-based ($10-$25 suggested)\, and we really appreciate any amount that attendees can donate to help support the production. DESCRIPTION:The Gathering is a showcase event highlighting choreography\, community\, and creativity. Each performance is a uniquely curated sample of San Diego’s dance companies and artists. This event\, co-produced by West Coast Dance Complex\, offers artists and audience members alike a chance to engage with one another in an intimate\, interactive format that encourages conversation and discovery. A community that dances together\, grows together. With this symbiotic relationship in mind\, ticket proceeds will fund emerging choreographers through the Orion Choreographic Fellowship. Awardees will have the opportunity for their work to be shown at future Gathering performances and to share their works in progress with the community’s support. With The Gathering\, Ballet Counterpointe brings the members of the San Diego dance community together and provides a space where we can all appreciate and learn from each other’s work.
