DESCRIPTION:Argentinian teacher Jonathan Brussolo is traveling through San Diego and we have a special opportunity to learn from him! \nFrom Jonathan\n“In these classes we will consider our attention as a resource that allows us a finer and more sensitive awareness of our bodies\, and from which we can explore the different systems and structures of our anatomy\, awakening greater presence and awareness in our physicalities… \nwhat we feel becomes present. \nWe will explore how refining our attention can establish a dialogue between physical sensations and relational perception. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our annual Adult Ballet Intensive in San Diego\, CA! \nPas De Deux Workshops & Coaching is delighted to welcome you to this unique program\, presented in partnership with the esteemed teacher and coach Robyn Segel Shifren. \nThis summer\, you will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the world of ballet\, improve your technique\, and experience the beauty of this timeless art form. We offer five hours of instruction each day\, including a 30-minute lunch break. Participants may choose to attend the full intensive or participate on a partial schedule. \nIn addition\, we are proud to be the only adult intensive in Southern California that offers pas de deux as part of its curriculum. The program is designed for intermediate to advanced dancers; however\, beginner dancers are also welcome to participate\, with the understanding that the curriculum is primarily geared toward more experienced students. SUMMARY:San Diego Tap & Jazz Dance Festival
DESCRIPTION:The San Diego Tap & Jazz Dance Festival is an annual celebration of tap dance\, jazz music\, rhythm\, culture\, and community held in San Diego the weekend before Thanksgiving. Presented by San Diego Tap & Jazz\, the festival brings together dancers\, musicians\, educators\, and artists of all ages and experience levels for a vibrant weekend of classes\, live music\, performances\, jam sessions\, social dancing\, and community connection. \nRooted in the rich traditions of African American art forms\, the festival honors the history and legacy of tap and jazz while creating an inclusive and welcoming space for learning\, creativity\, collaboration\, and artistic expression. Participants have the opportunity to study with inspiring artists\, experience live jazz music\, and celebrate the joy of rhythm in a supportive community environment. \nFestival highlights include a Faculty Concert featuring live jazz musicians accompanying the festival’s teaching artists in an exciting evening of rhythm\, improvisation\, collaboration\, and performance. The festival also includes a Community Dance and Student Showcase\, celebrating emerging artists\, local talent\, youth performers\, and the greater dance community in an uplifting and inspiring performance setting. \nThe festival takes place at Keiller Leadership Academy\, a nonprofit free public charter school located in the Encanto community of Southeast San Diego. Hosting the festival within a school and community-centered environment reflects the festival’s mission of accessibility\, education\, cultural preservation\, and artistic opportunity for all ages. \nThe 2026 San Diego Tap & Jazz Dance Festival will take place November 21–22\, 2026\, in San Diego\, California. The festival is open to dancers\, musicians\, students\, educators\, and community members who share a love for rhythm\, movement\, jazz culture\, and the performing arts.
