SUMMARY:The 90-Minute Admin Reset Workshop for Small Dance Companies and Artistpreneurs with Molly Terbovich-Ridenhour
DESCRIPTION:The work behind the work can feel overwhelming. Most independent artists and small dance companies are not only creating – they’re also managing budgets\, contracts\, deadlines\, communications\, fundraising\, and countless administrative tasks that often feel intimidating or get pushed aside. This practical\, facilitated workshop offers a chance to move back\, identify what’s working\, where you’re feeling stretched\, and the simple systems that can reduce stress and support your creative work. You’ll leave with greater clarity\, a realistic administrative priority\, and one manageable next move to strengthen the foundation behind your art. \nThis workshop will be facilitated by Molly Terbovich-Ridenhour\, the founder of A M R Strategic & Advisory Leadership\, where she partners with mission-driven organizations and artist-led initiatives to strengthen capacity\, navigate change\, and build sustainable organizations. With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership\, Molly has worked alongside boards\, executive directors\, staff teams\, and artists in governance\, fundraising\, strategic planning\, organizational development\, and leadership transition. \nBefore moving into nonprofit leadership\, Molly was a professional dancer\, a perspective that continues to shape her work today. Having experienced both the creative and administrative sides of the arts\, she understands the realities of balancing artistic vision with budgets\, fundraising\, contracts\, operations\, and the countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities that make creative work possible. \nMolly believes administration should support creativity\, not compete with it. Her workshops and consulting focus on practical\, human-centered approaches that reduce administrative overwhelm\, strengthen organizational systems\, and help artists and organizations build sustainable foundations that allow their creative work to thrive. \n  \nLEARN MORE HERE

SUMMARY:LAB: Graham-Based Modern (Beg)
DESCRIPTION:This beginning level modern dance workshop is rooted in Graham technique. We begin with a short warm-up to help lengthen and ground our bodies. We then introduce the codified Graham exercises\, beginning with floor exercises – bounces\, breathings\, spirals in 3s & 6s\, seated contractions\, deep stretches\, turns around the back\, pleadings\, etc. Transitioning to standing\, we move to center work – plies\, brushes\, changes around the ankle\, and a center combination. As time allows\, we’ll end with exercises and phrases across the floor – triplets\, prances\, jumps\, etc. Through focus on technique\, we’ll develop strength and deeper understanding of Graham technique\, which has its own unique movement language. \nThis class is geared towards both beginning dancers and more experienced dancers who are new to Graham technique. \n*Recommendation – If you have difficulty sitting on the floor with your back straight up and legs extended out in front\, we recommend that you bring a yoga mat or towel/blanket. These items may be folded and placed under the seat for floor exercise modifications.

SUMMARY:Movement Mystics: Alchemy\, Resilience & Transformation
DESCRIPTION:This captivating dance performance celebrates the richness of Brazilian culture through timeless feminine stories and symbols. Inspired by Brazil’s many dance traditions\, it explores themes of strength\, transformation and the wisdom carried within the body. Drawing from world mythology\, Yoruba beliefs\, Jungian psychology\, Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ “Wild Woman” archetype and the vibrant rhythms of Brazil\, the performance uses movement as a way to honor the past\, express the present and connect with something deeper. More than a celebration of culture\, this work is a personal journey. It explores how dance can help us navigate life’s biggest challenges and reconnect with our inner strength. Through themes of femininity\, grief\, motherhood\, empowerment and healing\, it invites audiences to reflect on the resilience of the human spirit and our ability to grow\, heal and begin again. Directed by Vika S. Hernandez. Featuring guest choreographers Roxanne Rojas de Blanco\, Tania Araoz and Katrina Kelly\, with Live Music by Rafael Hernandez and Aki Drums and original music by Alabe Bira Santos from Bahia\, Brazil.

SUMMARY:AADF2026 Mainstage Showcase
DESCRIPTION:We will once again close out the festival with our Mainstage Showcase. Last year\, audiences walked away with so many wonderful things to say. Sharing our stories of the AAPI experience proved moving and important work. AAPI audiences felt seen\, while others discovered how different and nuanced our experiences are. \nA curated evening of live dance\, invited dance makers will share personal works that touch on their experience of living multi-culturally. These AAPI choreographers represent different cultural backgrounds and create work in various dance disciplines. Each are inspirational and accomplished artists in their own right. Together they will present an evening of profound sharing and deep questioning. We hope audiences will come away with a richer understanding and appreciation of our AAPI communities and identities.
