SUMMARY:Summer ChoreoWreck 2026
DESCRIPTION:About the event\nOur two AADF2026 Collaborative Residency choreographers Forest Lee and Hannah Joo are offering up their works-in-progress to the “wrecking” process as part of their choreographic research. They will play with each other’s work and remake it live\, in front of an audience! Dance artists Adie San Diego and Odessa Uno are also invited to “wreck” the residents’ works. This is a rare opportunity for audiences to witness the creative process of dance making. Learn more about “wrecking”. \nThe Process\nEach “wreckee” has 2 hours to go through the entire wrecking process (two wreckings each). The wreckee first presents the original work. Then their “wreckers” will get 45 minutes each to remake the dance on the wreckee\, followed by a showing of that remake. After each wreckee’s full session\, there will be a short “talk back” with artists and audience. \nThere is a 55 minute lunch break between the two wreckee sessions. \nFree event…come & go as you please!\nSummer ChoreoWreck 2026 is offered free to the public (suggested $10 donation) – RSVP requested due to capacity limitations \nThroughout the entire event\, audiences are welcome to come and go – pick and choose which sessions you’d like to watch\, take a break whenever you need\, stay for the whole event! Wristbands will be provided for re-entry. \nSummer ChoreoWreck is made possible with the generous sponsorship of studio space by Malashock Dance and funded in part by City of San Diego Cultural Affairs. \nSchedule of Events\n10:00am: Greetings & Introduction\n10:15am: Wreckee Session #1 – Forest Lee\n12:15pm: Wreckee Session #1 Talk Back\n12:35m: Break\n1:30pm: Re-introduction of Wrecking\n1:40pm: Wreckee Session #2 – Hannah Joo\n3:40pm: Wreckee Session #2 Talk Back
