I am a multi-disciplinary artist who collaborates with the full spectrum of the dance community, using dancers as muses. My surrealist photographic paintings showcase dancers’ graceful fluidity with undercurrents of raw power and tension required to balance, turn, and jump. Traditional dance photography offers audiences orchestra pit views of dancers holding a pose, or at the apex of a leap on stage. I allow viewers to experience more than that millisecond, frozen in time under stage lights, using distortion and blur to capture the ethereal movement and bold emotion of dancers, creating an intimate up-close experience.
