The Emerging Artist Residency Program at Arts District Liberty Station provides visual and dance making artists with the space and variety of resources to develop their work and build sustainable creative careers in the San Diego–Baja region.
Through access to studio space and opportunities to present their work, artists are able to experiment, collaborate, and connect with the broader San Diego arts community while developing their artistic voice.
Specifically for dance arts, this residency provides 3-4 local artists from the Tijuana/San Diego region shared studio space in Dance Place within Arts District Liberty Station for 11-months. Participating artists in the residency are required to create opportunities for community engagement throughout the time in residency and present a final showcase of work created/developed alongside residency cohort.
The residency reflects Arts District Liberty Station’s commitment to supporting emerging talent and strengthening the creative landscape of the transborder region.
Annual open call usually opens in Spring-early Summer.
