Emmy-winning choreographer, dancer, instructor and producer Yaelisa trains dancers interested in immersing themselves in the art and culture of Spain. With her 40 years of experience and as a second generation Flamenco artist and choreographer, she teaches regularly in San Diego and produces performances with her students alongside professionals for their and the community’s enrichment. She is an internationally recognized artist and leader, with a long career of training and mentoring dancers who have gone on to work and perform in the U.S. and Spain. Caminos Flamencos has an international reputation for the highest authenticity and representation of this beautiful and complex art form called flamenco, and Yaelisa has worked in all mediums including stage, opera, television, film and video, winning multiple awards for her devotion to the dissemination and cultural understanding of the art of Spain. She has curated and lead productions and was co-founder of the New World Flamenco Festival at the Irvine Barclay Theatre and continues to work with communities as well as dancers and productions.
